Celebrating 1,000,000 Page Views

One of the website projects I have been involved in has just (January 12th, 2012 - 10:40 Romaian time) crossed 1,000,000 page views and almost 300,000 visitors in it's 3 years of existence. The website I am referring to is Andreea's (my life partner) Romanian speaking website Feminitate. Feminitate is an expression of Andreea's Dharma - a website that has gone way beyond binary bits in a computer.

Blog for Yourself

Though publishing online is relatively easy to do (thanks to WordPress, affordable Linux-based hosting, search engine traffic, etc.) - reaching people remains a formidable challenge. Attempting to satisfy the craving for "reach" is a slippery slope that can quickly lead away from flowing, honest & purpose-filled writing to burdensome, superficial & manipulative writing.

Are You Ready for a Website?

The title of this isn't quite right - it should say "Are you ready for a website with me?". I write this based on my beliefs on what a good website should be and the kind of work I do. I can easily sum it in one word - Content. Content is the best way for people to get to know you ... experience your uniqueness ... engage with you ... keep you fresh ...

My Business Model

I am getting involved in projects with people who are involved in some kind of personal spiritual practice. This indicates to me that there is a good chance that these people share some of my core beliefs ... A successful project is an enjoyable project. This is pretty much guaranteed when working with like-hearted people.

WordPress Karma

Karma is one of those tricky sanskrit words that relentessly changes its meaning in accomodating different contexts in which I try to apply it. In this case I am thinking of Karma as a ripple mechanism in which things we do affect the world around us. Sometimes the affects are quick and apparent, other times they are subtle and take a long time to appear. Every time I think about Wordpress this image applies in many ways and resolutions.
